A large eucalyptus tree came crashing down in Golden Gate Park on Monday afternoon, landing on four vehicles and blocking most of the major thoroughfare of 19th Avenue.

The San Francisco Fire Department said the incident happened at Crossover Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Authorities said no one was seriously injured.

Fire department officials said 11 people were evacuated from the four vehicles that were hit by the fallen tree and two of them suffered minor injuries. The department shared photos on X showing that the giant tree trunk fell on two vehicles, while another was trapped by branches.

Only one southbound lane of 19th Avenue was open Monday afternoon as officials cleared the scene. All northbound lanes were blocked, and officials cautioned motorists to expect major delays.
